What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. “Local storage” and “session storage” are similar browser mechanisms. SwapSlabs uses these only for the purposes described below. This policy is part of the Privacy Policy at /privacy.
Strictly necessary — always on
These are required to run the service. If you block them, you will not be able to sign in or transact.
- Authentication / session — set through Supabase's cookie-based auth to keep you signed in as you move between pages.
- Security and abuse prevention — to detect automated abuse, protect forms, and keep your session tied to your device.
- Preferences — to remember lightweight choices such as your theme or a dismissed notice.
- Legal acceptance — a short-lived value that carries the legal version you accepted at signup into your account record.
Analytics — first-party, privacy-conscious
SwapSlabs uses limited first-party analytics storage to understand which features are used and where people get stuck, so it can fix problems and prioritize work. Analytics data is aggregated or de-identified where feasible and is not used to build an advertising profile of you.
What SwapSlabs does not do
- No third-party advertising cookies
- No cross-site or cross-context behavioral tracking
- No sale or sharing of personal information for advertising
- No social-media tracking pixels for ad targeting
Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, and set your browser to warn you before storing them; blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in. Where local law requires a consent banner for non-essential storage, SwapSlabs presents one and records your choice. SwapSlabs also honors a recognized opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, where the law requires.
[PLACEHOLDER — confirm the consent-management approach, the banner regions, and the consent-record retention with counsel before launch.]
Changes
SwapSlabs updates this policy when its use of cookies changes. Material changes follow the shared legal versioning described in the Terms.
