Frequently asked questions
102 plain answers about how $wapSlabs works. For the precise rules, see the Terms, 100% Guarantee, Fee Schedule, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy.
Getting started
What $wapSlabs is, what's free, and what you need before you can trade.
What is $wapSlabs?
$wapSlabs is a marketplace where you can swap, buy, or sell collectible trading cards — any sport and any trading card game, all in one place. Swapping is the core feature: you can trade any card for any other card regardless of category, with cash added by either side to balance an uneven trade. Every card gets an estimated market value from recent sold comparables so both sides can see whether a deal is fair.
Is it free to join and browse?
Yes. Creating an account and browsing every active listing is completely free, with no subscription or membership fee. You can see what's listed, the asking prices, and general marketplace activity without adding anything. You only need a payment card on file once you want to sell, swap, message another member, or view what past deals actually closed at.
What do I need before I can sell or swap?
You need a valid payment card on file with our payments processor, Stripe. That single requirement gates selling, swapping, messaging other members, and viewing realized prices. Listing a card valued over $1,000, or completing any sale or swap valued over $1,000, also requires completing identity verification first.
Why does $wapSlabs hide the price a card actually sold for?
The asking price and the fact that a listing sold are public to everyone. The actual sold or swapped price — the realized price — is only visible to members who have a payment card on file. This mirrors how coin and numismatic auction houses reserve realized hammer prices for members, and it keeps the data that powers our valuation engine as a reason to become a committed member.
How does $wapSlabs make money if there's no membership fee?
Revenue comes from an 8% commission on every sale and swap, which is built into the displayed price rather than charged to the buyer as a separate fee. $wapSlabs also earns a small margin on the Tier 1 shipping program through the packaging fee and a modest markup over the carrier rate. There is no plan to gate entry-level participation behind a subscription.
How old do I have to be?
You must be at least 18, or the higher age of majority where you live, and able to enter a binding contract. $wapSlabs is not directed to anyone under that age and does not knowingly collect their information. See the Terms of Service at /terms for full eligibility rules.
Where do I find all the rules and policies?
The /legal index links every governing document: the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Community Guidelines, Prohibited & Restricted Items list, Intellectual Property / DMCA Policy, the 100% Guarantee, Fee Schedule, Shipping Policy, and Accessibility Statement. Every answer below links the specific page that governs the rule it describes.
Can I use $wapSlabs from outside the United States?
$wapSlabs is offered in the United States and its shipping program supports domestic US addresses at launch. You can browse from anywhere, but transacting requires a payment card your bank will authorize, and cross-border shipping and customs are not yet supported. An international buyer and a US seller can sometimes agree to local pickup. See the Shipping Policy at /shipping-policy.
Buying
How checkout works, what you pay, and what protects the purchase.
What will I actually pay at checkout?
You pay the displayed price plus itemized payment processing of roughly 2.9% + $0.30. The 8% $wapSlabs commission is already inside the displayed price, so it is not added on top for you. Shipping and packaging fees are charged to whichever member ships the card; who covers shipping is part of the deal terms.
Do I need a card on file just to buy?
To complete a purchase you pay with a card through Stripe at checkout, so yes, a working card is required to buy. Browsing and seeing asking prices stays free and open. Keeping a card on file also lets you see realized prices and message sellers.
How do I know a card's price is fair?
Every listing shows an automatic estimated value derived from recent sold comparables, adjusted for the grading company and grade (PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC, TAG, or raw). Use it as a sanity check against the seller's asking price. The estimate is decision support, not an appraisal or a guarantee of resale value.
What if the card never arrives or isn't what was listed?
The 100% Ironclad Delivery Guarantee covers you. Message the seller first, and if that doesn't resolve it, open a dispute on the transaction and attach evidence such as tracking and dated photos. If $wapSlabs finds on the evidence that the seller defaulted, the seller's card on file is charged and you are reimbursed. This protection depends on the card being shipped with $wapSlabs's label and tracking.
Can I return a card because I changed my mind?
No. The Guarantee covers non-delivery and items that are materially not as described, not buyer's remorse or a later change in a card's market value. Check the listing photos and the estimated value carefully before you buy. A seller may choose to accept a return, but they are not required to.
Can I offer less than the asking price?
You can propose a swap that includes cash, and you can message the seller with a card on file to discuss terms. Straight sale listings are priced by the seller, with the 8% commission already baked in. If a seller wants offers, that will be reflected in how they've set up the listing.
Will I be charged sales tax at checkout?
Where $wapSlabs is required to act as a marketplace facilitator, it calculates and collects applicable US sales tax and shows it at checkout as a separate line. That tax is remitted to the state and is not a $wapSlabs fee. Whether tax applies depends on your shipping address and local rules. See the Fee Schedule at /fees.
What happens if I file a chargeback with my bank?
If you have a genuine problem, open a dispute on the transaction first — the 100% Guarantee is usually faster than a bank chargeback. If you file a chargeback after already being refunded or reimbursed under the Guarantee, that is a double recovery, and $wapSlabs may recover the duplicate amount from your card on file or offset it against funds owed to you. See the Terms at /terms and the Fee Schedule at /fees.
Selling
Listing a card, what you net, and the identity check for higher-value cards.
How do I list a card?
From the Sell area, create a listing with photos of the actual card plus its category, player or game, set, year, grading company and grade, and condition notes. $wapSlabs runs a valuation from comparable sales and caches an estimated value on the listing. You set your asking price, and you need a payment card on file to publish.
How much do I net on a sale?
$wapSlabs takes an 8% commission out of the displayed price (10% on ungraded cards), with a $1 minimum per sale or swap. To net a target amount, list at that amount divided by 0.92 — for example, list at about $108.70 to net roughly $100.00. Payment processing is passed through to the buyer on top of the displayed price, not deducted from your proceeds. Shipping and packaging fees apply to whoever ships.
Do I need identity verification to sell?
Listing a card valued over $1,000, or completing any transaction — a sale or a swap — valued over $1,000, requires the parties involved to complete identity verification first: a government-issued photo ID (driver's license or passport) plus a live selfie for face-matching, handled by our verification provider. $wapSlabs stores only the verification result and a reference, never the ID image or the biometric face data. Higher-volume selling can also trigger verification.
What am I not allowed to list?
No counterfeit, reproduction, altered, or trimmed cards; nothing misrepresented as to grade, authenticity, or condition; no stolen cards or cards you don't have the right to sell; and no cards with fake or tampered grading slabs. Event tickets and other nonrefundable goods are out of scope for now. Sending a counterfeit or knowingly misrepresented card leads to a charge for the full item value plus an authentication premium, account suspension, and a referral to law enforcement.
When do I get paid?
When a sale is paid, the amount you're owed is recorded in your seller ledger with a short hold — about 7 days — before it's released for payout through Stripe. The hold gives the buyer time to confirm receipt and covers the dispute window. You can track earnings, holds, and any Guarantee charges from your account's payments page.
Can I edit or withdraw a listing?
Yes. You can edit a listing's details or withdraw it any time before it sells or is locked into an accepted swap. Every edit re-runs the valuation so the estimated value stays current. Once a card is sold or swapped, the listing status changes and it can no longer be edited.
Do I get a 1099-K, and how are taxes handled for sellers?
$wapSlabs reports qualifying seller proceeds to tax authorities where the law requires, including on IRS Form 1099-K, and may ask you for a taxpayer identification number so it can. Any income tax on your sales and swaps is your responsibility. $wapSlabs does not give tax advice — talk to a tax professional. Details are in the Fee Schedule at /fees.
What can't I list on $wapSlabs?
No counterfeit, reproduction, altered, or trimmed cards; nothing misrepresented as to grade, grading company, or condition; no tampered slabs; no stolen cards; and no off-scope goods such as sealed wax, non-card memorabilia sold alone, digital items, or event tickets. The full split of prohibited versus conditionally allowed items is the Prohibited & Restricted Items policy at /prohibited-items.
How do I close my account?
You can close your account from your account settings at any time. Obligations from transactions already in progress survive, and $wapSlabs keeps transaction, tax, payout, and dispute records it is legally required to retain even after closure. See the Privacy Policy at /privacy for what is kept and for how to make a data request.
Swapping
Value-based swaps, cash to equalize, and counter-offers.
How does a swap work?
A swap is a value-based trade. You build a proposal with cards on each side, and $wapSlabs totals each side using its estimated values and shows the difference. Either party can add cash to balance an uneven trade. Both parties see the same value comparison before anyone accepts.
Can I trade a baseball card for a Pokémon card?
Yes. Cross-category trading is the whole point — any card for any other card, regardless of sport or game. Value is the common currency, so a baseball card, a basketball card, and a Magic card can all sit on the same side of a trade. The running totals tell you if it balances.
How is commission handled on a swap?
The 8% commission applies to swaps just like sales. On a swap it's calculated as 8% of the greater of the two sides' total value, and it's snapshotted at the moment both parties accept. The agreed values and commission are locked in at acceptance.
What if the two sides aren't equal?
$wapSlabs suggests the cash top-up that balances the delta, within a small fairness tolerance of about 5%. Either party can be the one adding cash. You can also counter a proposal to adjust the cards or the cash until both sides agree.
Can I counter a swap offer?
Yes. A counter-offer replaces the previous offer, and you can go back and forth until someone accepts or declines. A swap only becomes binding when both sides accept it and both have a payment card on file. At that point the listings are marked as swapped and a transaction opens for shipping and ratings.
Do I need a card on file to swap even though no money changes hands?
Yes. A payment card on file is required to initiate or accept any swap, because that card backs your side of the deal under the 100% Ironclad Delivery Guarantee. If you don't ship what you promised and it's established on the evidence, your card on file is charged to make the other member whole.
What happens if only one side of a swap ships?
Each direction of a swap is its own shipment with its own tracking. If one member ships and the other does not, the member who was left short opens a dispute on the transaction. If $wapSlabs finds on the evidence that a party failed to ship, that party's card on file is charged the value needed to make the other member whole, and they may be suspended. See the Guarantee at /guarantee.
Can I cancel a swap after both sides accept it?
An accepted swap is binding — the listings are marked swapped and a transaction opens. You can't unilaterally cancel it. If both members agree not to proceed, contact support through the address in the Privacy Policy. If the other side won't ship, use the dispute process rather than walking away. See the Terms at /terms.
Ungraded cards
Raw cards: sale only, a 10% commission, and an AI condition check instead of a grade.
Can I sell an ungraded card?
Yes. Choose "Raw / ungraded" as the grading company and "Sell only". Add clear photos of the front and back. Our AI looks at them and posts a condition estimate on your listing.
Why can't ungraded cards be swapped?
A fair swap depends on both sides knowing what each card is worth. Without a grade, the value of a raw card is a guess, so we keep raw cards to straight sales where the buyer decides on the price.
Why is the commission 10% on ungraded cards?
Raw cards cost us more to handle: every one gets an AI condition check, and they take more review when questions come up. Slabs stay at 8%.
How accurate is the AI condition check?
It's a careful second opinion from photos, not a grade. It gives a grade range, rates centering, corners, edges and surface, and flags anything it can see. Photos can hide flaws, and AI makes mistakes just like people do. Look at the photos yourself and ask the seller questions.
Is an ungraded card covered by the guarantee?
Only partly. If the card never arrives or isn't the card in the listing, you're covered. Its condition and grade are not covered. You buy a raw card as shown in its photos, at your own risk.
How do I know I can trust a seller?
Every listing shows the seller's rating, how many deals they've completed, how long they've been a member, and their own About box, where they can list references like other marketplaces or card shows. We don't check those references, so look them up.
Pricing & fees
The 8% commission, itemized processing, and how estimated values are set.
What does $wapSlabs charge?
An 8% commission on every sale and every swap, built into the displayed price rather than shown to the buyer as a separate line item. Standard payment processing of about 2.9% + $0.30 is itemized on top at checkout and passed through rather than absorbed into the 8%. Shipping and card-safe packaging fees apply to the member who ships. See the Fee Schedule at /fees for a full worked example.
Why is the commission baked into the price instead of added at checkout?
It keeps the buyer's total honest and predictable: the number on the listing is the number that drives the purchase. A seller who wants to net a specific amount lists at that amount divided by 0.92. This structure also keeps $wapSlabs's all-in cost below eBay, TCGplayer, StockX, and Mercari.
How is a card's estimated value calculated?
$wapSlabs pulls recent sold comparables for the card and takes the median for the exact grade where there's enough data. When there isn't, it normalizes comps to a raw baseline and re-applies a multiplier for the grading company and grade. Each estimate comes with a confidence level, and it updates as new sales come in.
Is the estimated value a guarantee of what a card is worth?
No. Estimated values, suggested prices, and comparable-sale data are informational decision support, not appraisals or investment advice. They can be inaccurate or out of date. Use them alongside your own judgment.
Are fees refundable if a sale is reversed?
Fees are earned when a transaction completes and are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated. If a full refund is issued, related fees are handled according to the Fee Schedule and the refund terms. A Guarantee charge is separate from commission and processing fees.
Does swapping cost less than selling?
No — swaps carry the same 8% commission structure as sales, calculated on the larger side's total value. The idea is that a swap moves the same value as a sale, so it's priced the same. There's no separate discount for trading instead of selling.
What exactly is added on top of the price at checkout?
Two things can sit on top of the displayed price: itemized payment processing of roughly 2.9% + $0.30, and applicable US sales tax where $wapSlabs must collect it as a marketplace facilitator. The 8% commission is already inside the displayed price. Shipping and packaging fees are billed to whichever member ships. The Fee Schedule at /fees shows a full worked example.
If a sale is refunded, do I get the fees back too?
If a seller refunds before the item ships, the commission and the percentage part of processing are reversed with it; the fixed $0.30 processing charge is generally not returned by the processor. Partial refunds reduce the commission proportionally. Shipping and packaging fees are refundable only if no label was generated. See the Fee Schedule at /fees.
Payments & payouts
Stripe, the card on file, payout timing, and refunds.
Who processes payments?
Stripe. Your full card number, expiration, and security code go directly to Stripe and are tokenized; they never touch $wapSlabs's servers. $wapSlabs stores only your card brand, last four digits, expiration, and Stripe identifiers so it can show which card is on file and charge amounts you've authorized.
What am I authorizing when I add a card on file?
You authorize $wapSlabs to charge that card for amounts you owe: commission-inclusive purchase totals, itemized processing, shipping and packaging fees, and a Guarantee charge if you're the proven at-fault party in a dispute. Keep a working card on file for as long as you have open or recently completed transactions. If a charge fails, $wapSlabs may retry it and restrict your account.
When are seller payouts released?
After a sale is paid, your proceeds sit in your seller ledger with a hold of about 7 days, then move to available and are paid out through Stripe. The hold covers the buyer's confirmation and the dispute window. Your account's payments page shows what's held, what's available, and any Guarantee charges.
Can a seller issue a refund?
Yes. A seller can refund an order in full or in part from the order page. A refund reverses the corresponding amount in the seller ledger, and if the card hasn't shipped it can be relisted. Refunds interact with fees as described in the Fee Schedule.
What happens if my card on file expires mid-transaction?
$wapSlabs warns you when a card on file is close to expiring and asks you to update it. You can't remove the only card on file while you have a trade in flight. Add a new card before the old one lapses so pending charges and payouts aren't disrupted.
Is there 3D Secure / extra bank authentication?
Yes, when your bank requires it. Stripe handles the additional authentication step during card setup or checkout, and $wapSlabs surfaces it in the flow. Completing it is necessary for the card or payment to go through.
How does a Guarantee charge actually reach my card?
If a dispute resolver finds you defaulted, $wapSlabs charges your card on file off-session through Stripe — the same card you authorized when you added it — for the amount needed to make the other member whole, plus a premium for a counterfeit or knowing misrepresentation. If the charge fails, $wapSlabs retries it, may use another card on file, offsets against funds owed to you, and restricts the account until it clears. See the Guarantee at /guarantee.
What happens if my card is declined when $wapSlabs tries a Guarantee charge?
$wapSlabs retries the charge, may apply another payment method you have on file, and may offset the amount against any payouts owed to you. Your account is restricted from transacting until the balance is cleared, and an unpaid balance can be sent to collections. Keeping a valid card on file while you have open or recent deals is a Terms requirement. See /terms and /guarantee.
Shipping
The Tier 1 drop-off flow, packaging, local pickup, and the $750 signature rule.
How should I pack a card?
Penny sleeve, then a top loader (or a slab in a bubble sleeve). Close the top loader with painter's tape, which holds tight and peels off clean with no sticky residue. Put it in a bubble mailer, or between two pieces of cardboard for extra safety.
How are cards worth $250 or more protected?
With photos. The seller takes one of the card next to the open mailer before sealing it, and the buyer takes one when they open it. Our AI checks it's the same card. If it isn't, the payment stays on hold until a person looks. Over $750, delivery also needs a signature. We never hold your card.
Can I get free shipping boxes?
Yes, if you ship USPS Priority Mail. USPS sends Priority boxes and envelopes free: order them at usps.com (Shop, then Shipping Supplies). They're only for Priority Mail, which starts around $10, so for cheaper cards a bubble mailer by Ground Advantage usually costs less.
How does $wapSlabs shipping work?
$wapSlabs runs a Tier 1 drop-off program. You buy card-safe packaging through $wapSlabs, pack the card, and confirm the shipment details. $wapSlabs generates a QR code tied to its carrier account; you take the package to a participating UPS Store, FedEx Store, or partner location, and staff scan the code and print the label in-store. Tracking then updates on the transaction automatically.
What does shipping cost?
You pay a packaging fee for the card-safe materials plus a shipping fee equal to the carrier rate $wapSlabs is billed plus a small markup (about $1.50). Insurance is added automatically above a declared value of roughly $300. Exact amounts are shown before you confirm.
Do I need a printer?
No. That's the point of the QR drop-off flow — the label is printed at the store when staff scan your code, and applied to the package on the spot. At-home label printing is a planned Power Seller feature, not part of the current version.
Can we just meet in person instead of shipping?
Yes. Local pickup is available as an alternative to shipping. Choose it on the transaction, hand the card off, and both parties still confirm receipt on $wapSlabs so the transaction completes and ratings unlock. Local pickup is not available when a signature is required.
What's the rule for high-value cards?
Any shipment with a declared value above $750 must ship signature-required and carries an added signature fee. Local pickup is not allowed for those shipments. This protects both sides on expensive cards and isn't optional.
Who is responsible if the carrier loses the package?
Risk of loss passes to the recipient on delivery to their address. Between correct drop-off and delivery, a lost or carrier-damaged package is handled through the shipping insurance on the label and the 100% Guarantee — as long as you used the $wapSlabs-generated label and tracking. Shipping outside $wapSlabs's system or mismarking the declared value can forfeit that protection.
What do I do if my card is lost in transit?
If tracking stops moving for several days, or shows delivered but nothing arrived, contact the other member and then open a dispute on the transaction. Keep the packaging and take dated photos. $wapSlabs files the carrier insurance claim on labels it generated and uses the Guarantee to make the wronged member whole without waiting for the carrier to pay out. See the Shipping Policy at /shipping-policy.
How is a claim handled if the card arrives damaged?
Photograph the sealed package before opening and the card immediately after, keep all packaging, and open a dispute. $wapSlabs weighs the evidence: under-packing that caused the damage can put responsibility on the sender, while carrier mishandling of a properly packed shipment is covered by insurance and the Guarantee. Packaging standards are in the Shipping Policy at /shipping-policy.
Does $wapSlabs ship internationally?
Not at launch. $wapSlabs shipping supports domestic US addresses only for now; international shipping, customs, and cross-border insurance are not yet supported. An international buyer and a US seller may agree to local pickup where that is practical. See the Shipping Policy at /shipping-policy for the current footprint.
The 100% Guarantee
What the Ironclad Delivery Guarantee covers, the proof standard, and counterfeit rules.
What is the 100% Ironclad Delivery Guarantee?
It's $wapSlabs's core trust mechanism: every item must arrive exactly as described and as promised, or the responsible party is made whole. Because every member who can transact has a payment card on file, $wapSlabs can charge a proven at-fault member and reimburse the member who was wronged. It applies to completed sales and swaps shipped with $wapSlabs's label and tracking.
What exactly does it cover?
Non-delivery, packages that arrive empty or tampered, the wrong card, and cards materially different from the listing — wrong player or set, wrong grade, damaged, altered, or trimmed. If $wapSlabs establishes on the evidence that a party defaulted this way, that party's card on file is charged the item's value, up to what's reasonably needed to make the other member whole.
What happens with a counterfeit or fake card?
Counterfeits are treated as fraud. If $wapSlabs establishes on the evidence that a member sent a counterfeit card or one they knowingly misrepresented, that member's card on file is charged the full item value plus an authentication and handling premium, the account is suspended, and the matter is referred to the appropriate law-enforcement authorities.
What proof standard does $wapSlabs use?
A preponderance of the evidence — what more likely than not happened. $wapSlabs weighs carrier tracking, the original listing and photos, message history, dated photos of the package and card as received, and grading or authentication records. Keep all packaging until the transaction is fully closed.
What isn't covered?
Buyer's remorse or a later change in a card's market value; minor differences already disclosed in the listing or its photos; anything taken off-platform or shipped without $wapSlabs's label and tracking; and carrier loss or damage after correct drop-off, which is handled through shipping insurance and the Shipping Policy rather than a charge against the sender.
Is $wapSlabs's decision final?
$wapSlabs's determination is final for eligibility and payment under the Guarantee program itself. It does not limit any legal rights members have against each other outside the program. Disputes between you and $wapSlabs are governed by the Terms of Service.
What evidence should I keep in case of a dispute?
Keep the shipping box and all packaging until the transaction is fully closed. Take dated photos of the sealed package and label before opening, then of the card right after. Keep the message history on $wapSlabs, the carrier tracking, and any grading or authentication records. $wapSlabs decides on a preponderance of the evidence, so contemporaneous photos matter. See the Guarantee at /guarantee.
How long does a Guarantee claim take to resolve?
$wapSlabs acknowledges a dispute quickly, gives both sides a set period to submit evidence and respond, then issues a decision. Straightforward non-delivery cases resolve fastest; not-as-described and suspected-counterfeit cases take longer because they may need authentication input. File promptly after delivery or the expected delivery date. See the dispute timeline in the Guarantee at /guarantee.
How does certification scan verification work?
When you list a graded card you can enter its certification number — or scan the slab's barcode with your phone camera — and $wapSlabs checks it against the grading company's own verification database. On a match, the card's player or name, set, year, grade, and population count are pulled back to auto-fill your listing, it feeds straight into the valuation engine, and the listing gets a "Cert-verified" badge. PSA is supported at launch, with BGS, SGC, CGC, and TAG to follow; raw cards and unsupported graders are simply listed manually. This is a point-of-listing check — $wapSlabs never takes custody of your card the way a central authentication hub would. The server re-runs the lookup before saving, so the badge always reflects a real match, not a claim.
Ratings & reviews
Verified-transaction-only reviews and how manipulation is handled.
Who can leave me a rating?
Only someone who completed a verified transaction with you, and only one rating per transaction per party, about that transaction. Both parties confirm receipt to complete a transaction, and then each can rate the other once. Reviews left outside a real completed trade don't exist on $wapSlabs.
What can I rate?
An overall star score plus sub-scores for communication, item as described, and shipping speed. Written review text is optional. The person you reviewed can post a single public reply to your review.
Why is a seller's headline rating different from the raw average?
$wapSlabs shows a Bayesian average that blends a member's reviews with a neutral prior, so a single 5-star or 1-star review doesn't swing a new member's score wildly. The raw average, the full histogram, and per-criterion scores are all shown too. More recent reviews carry more weight in the display.
How does $wapSlabs stop rating manipulation?
Ratings only attach to real completed transactions, which blocks the most common abuse. On top of that, $wapSlabs runs heuristics for coordinated pile-ons — clusters of low ratings against one member from brand-new accounts in a short window — and for retaliatory reciprocal low ratings, and suppresses affected reviews pending moderator review. Buying, trading for, or coordinating reviews violates the Terms.
Can I get a review removed?
You can report a review. $wapSlabs removes reviews that break the Terms or contain unlawful, abusive, or personal-data content, and recomputes the displayed average accordingly. Honest negative reviews about a real transaction generally stay. A member profile transparently notes how many of their ratings are under review.
Does a suppressed review still count against me?
No. While a review is suppressed pending moderation it doesn't factor into your displayed averages. If a moderator upholds it, it counts again; if it's dismissed, it stays out. The 'N under review' note keeps this visible rather than hidden.
Can I change or delete a rating after I leave it?
Ratings are meant to be a durable record of a real transaction, so you can't freely rewrite them. If you made a factual mistake or the other member resolved the issue afterward, contact support to have it reviewed. The member you rated can always post one public reply. Rating conduct rules are in the Community Guidelines at /community-guidelines.
Do disputes I file show up on my public profile?
No. Filing a legitimate dispute is not published on your profile and does not lower your rating. $wapSlabs specifically watches for retaliatory low ratings tied to a dispute and suppresses them pending review. Abusing the dispute process, though, is a Terms violation. See the Community Guidelines at /community-guidelines.
Identity & account safety
The verification gate on transactions over $1,000, what data is kept, and keeping your account secure.
When do I have to verify my identity?
Four triggers: (1) listing a card valued over $1,000; (2) completing any sale or swap over $1,000 — both sides; (3) reaching 10 or more active listings, or $5,000 of active inventory, counted across everything you have listed rather than per batch, so a bulk upload of many mid-value cards counts; (4) high-volume selling (25+ completed sales or $25,000 gross). Browsing, messaging, and lower-value trades don't require it.
What does verification involve?
A government-issued photo ID — a driver's license or passport — plus a live selfie that's matched against the ID. It's handled by a third-party identity provider (Stripe Identity); you submit the document and selfie directly to them.
Why do I need a verified phone number for expensive cards?
A photo ID proves who you are. It doesn't prove anyone can reach you when a package goes missing or a trade goes sideways. Above $1,000, both sides of a trade need a phone number we've verified by text, so there's a channel that actually answers. It's only shown to the other party in an active dispute, never published on your profile.
What identity data does $wapSlabs keep?
Only a reference to the verification session, its result (verified, pending, or failed), and the identity tier it unlocks. $wapSlabs never receives or stores the image of your ID or the biometric face data — the verification provider handles those under its own terms. Availability and consent details for the face-match step vary by region.
Why require ID at all?
The 100% Ironclad Delivery Guarantee only works if there's a real, verified person behind the payment card on file when a valuable card changes hands. The over-$1,000 gate ensures that both sides of a high-value trade have been verified, which makes the charge-on-default mechanism meaningful.
How do I keep my account secure?
Use a strong, unique password, keep your payment card on file current, and never move a deal off-platform to skip the Guarantee. Tell $wapSlabs right away if you think someone accessed your account. Passwords are hashed by our auth provider and $wapSlabs never sees them in plain text.
Can I have more than one account?
No — one person, one account. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account. Creating extra accounts, especially to manipulate ratings or evade a suspension, is a Terms violation.
What value counts toward the $1,000 identity-verification threshold?
It is the transaction or listing value: the sale price of a card, or the greater side's total value on a swap, and the estimated value $wapSlabs assigns a card you're listing. If either the card you list or the deal you're completing is over $1,000, the parties involved must complete identity verification before it can proceed. See the Guarantee at /guarantee.
How do I make a data or privacy request?
Email the privacy address listed in the Privacy Policy at /privacy, or use the controls in your account settings. You can ask to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and California and other state residents can appeal a denial. $wapSlabs verifies your identity in proportion to the request and may keep records it is legally required to retain.
What items am I not allowed to list?
Counterfeit, reproduction, altered, or trimmed cards; anything misrepresented as to grade, grading company, or condition; tampered slabs; stolen cards; and off-scope goods like sealed wax, lone memorabilia, digital items, and event tickets. Some items — disclosed alterations, damaged slabs, custom cards — are allowed only under conditions. The full list is at /prohibited-items.
Disputes
What to do when a trade goes wrong and how $wapSlabs resolves it.
Something went wrong with my trade. What's the first step?
Contact the other member through $wapSlabs messaging. Many problems — a delayed shipment, a packaging question, a misunderstanding — get resolved directly. Keep the conversation on $wapSlabs so there's a record.
How do I open a formal dispute?
If messaging doesn't resolve it, open a dispute on the transaction, promptly after delivery or the expected delivery date. Attach your evidence: carrier tracking, the original listing and photos, message history, and dated photos of the package and the card as you received it. The sooner you file, the easier it is to establish what happened.
How does $wapSlabs decide?
A dispute resolver reviews the evidence and decides on a preponderance of the evidence — what more likely than not happened. If a party is found to have defaulted, their card on file is charged and the wronged member is reimbursed. Counterfeit or knowing-misrepresentation cases add an authentication premium, account suspension, and a law-enforcement referral.
How long do I have to file?
File promptly after delivery or the date delivery was expected, and within any window shown on the transaction. Guarantee protection depends on timely reporting while evidence like packaging and tracking is still fresh. Don't discard packaging until the transaction is fully closed.
What if I disagree with the outcome?
$wapSlabs's decision is final for the Guarantee program itself, but it doesn't limit any legal rights you have against the other member. A dispute over a chargeback or a payment issue with your own bank is handled through Stripe and your card issuer. Disputes between you and $wapSlabs are governed by the Terms.
Will filing a dispute affect my rating?
Filing a legitimate dispute doesn't penalize you. Ratings come only from completed transactions, and $wapSlabs watches for retaliatory low ratings tied to disputes and suppresses them pending review. Abusing the dispute process, though, is a Terms violation.
How long does a dispute take to resolve?
$wapSlabs acknowledges a dispute quickly and gives both sides a set period to submit evidence and respond before issuing a decision. Clear non-delivery cases are fastest; not-as-described and suspected-counterfeit cases take longer because they may need authentication input. Filing promptly, while tracking and packaging are fresh, speeds everything up. See the Guarantee at /guarantee.
What if the other member stops responding during a dispute?
The dispute proceeds without them. $wapSlabs decides on the evidence available, and a member who ignores a dispute generally loses it if the tracking and photos point against them. If they were found to have defaulted, their card on file is charged to make you whole and their account may be suspended. See the Guarantee at /guarantee.
